Summary

Glossy purple raffia braid, mauve silk crepe. Lined with black silk crepe. Soft domed crown with straight sides. Brim turned down at front, turned up at back, crepe over stiffening, edged with band of plait. Wide band of crepe draped round crown with 4 plush poppies in mauve and purple and stiffened mauve silk leaves at each side. Brim wired and faced with ruched mauve crepe. Violet velvet inside headband with black silk bow at centre back.
