Summary

Sewn from plaited hemp braids, trimmed with blue watered silk ribbon and black net. Round deep crown with wide brim, turning down at front. Brim and crown covered with 4 layers of net. Ribbon band with bow at front. Looped ribbon trimming above and below centre back of brim. Wreath of forget-me-nots and mimosa all round brim. Crown lined with white silk, gathered together in centre with white silk ribbon. See also Spray 1954.828/2
