Summary

Blue silk knitted in stocking stitch with ivory clock, worked with two narrow white lines, and with pink stripe inside; seamed down CB; shaped for leg; narrow gusset each side of leg at base, white silk, surrounded by pattern knitted in white silk. Framework knitted with 9 stitches per cm and 10.5 rows per cm. Received with Shoes and Stockings 1958.21/3 The dress, shoes and stockings were bequeathed to the donor's father, for many years a solicitor in Oldham and clerk to the Council - they formerly belonged to the family of Tetlow - Edmund Tetlow, Banton Lodge, Eccles.
