Wide slightly curved waistband fastening with two drawstrings at CB; front, and sides to side back, in three sections, very slightly flared at side bakc; lighty padded beneath horizontal line of narrow braid half-way down, rising to sides, wavy vertical lines of braid below; CB in one slightly flared section, thickly padded from top to bottom between horizontal lines of gathering; printed label inside waistband showing two medals and "PHILADELPHIA, 1876, PARIS, 1878 / McLINTOCK'S / PURIFIED RUSSIAN / DOWN SKIRT".
