Summary

Quilted petticoat. Cotton printed with stylised flower and foliage design in red, yellow, green and blue on black ground; lined with red cotton. Wide waistband dipping to V at CF with two drawstrings between stitching at upper edge; straight narrow panel at CF, two wider panels each side to CB seam; padded with down from 19.5cm from waist at back and sides, 30.5cm at front held by waving horizontal lines of stitching trimmed with narrow braid; at CF waist with white cotton label printed with black coat of arms including duck with fox crest, flanked by exhibition medals for 'London 1862' and 'Dublin 1865' with above 'BOOTH & FOX'S' and below 'PATENT (No. 9152) ARCTIC DOWN SKIRT, Size 34in, WARRANTED PURE DOWN'.
