Marriage chest, oak, deep rectangular form with banded effect around chest, front decorated with applied tin repousse work with leaves and flowers, two oval iron handles, knob at front to raise lid and four wooden wheels beneath. Carved initials "CMG" and date "1787". German or possibly Dutch.
