River Medlock from Oxford Road Bridge, 1910

River Medlock from Oxford Road Bridge, 1910

Summary

A view of the river Medlock, taken from the bridge over the Oxford Road. The river is lined with buildings, some of which are commercial, with advertising signs on their roofs. In the middle distance the river is spanned by a building-bridge, as if a house is suspended in mid-air. In the distance are large warehouse buildings, and a chimney smokes to the left. The whole is painted in tones of green, blue and purple, giving a slightly Venetian air to this Manchester scene.
