Bodice has vertical pleats and central row of buttons, sleeve is loose fitting bishop sleeve and trimmed at cuff. Skirt is full and has one tier. Child is wearing hat decorated with bows and ribbons, her bodice is made of broderie anglasie. Her skirt is checked and decorated with central line of buttons and trimmed with band above hem. She is holding a bag by its chain. She is wearing pale coloured stockings and ankle strap shoes. The image is tinted with colour on trimmings and face of woman and child. In the background there is the base of a column.
