Summary

Double breasted dark blue facecloth tail coat with a black velvet turn down collar and a loop for hanging. Chased gilt buttons either side CF with a single button at the top of the skirt pleat. Piped edges and cuffs. Tails lined black ribbed silk. This coat has no side bodies so probably pre-dates the late 1830s; its sleeves are smoothly applied to the body without gathering, so post-1830.
