Summary

Studio portrait 3/4 length with wooden carved plinth and potted plant in background. Costume is made of thick material, with seemingly separate coat and skirt. Coat has centre lace insert and overlay of lace that is draped around collar and fastened at the chest with a brooch/foliage, the rest of the length of lace hangs loosely to below the coat end. Sleeves have large lace cuffs that extend almost to the elbow, with ruffled and frilled cuff detail at the arm openings. Large bustle is worn, with pleating and lace panels present toward the lower end of the skirt.
