Summary

Head and shoulders vignette portrait of a woman seated against a plain studio backdrop. She has dark wavy hair worn in a loose chignon and she is wearing a cream wool and silk dress with a V neckline with frill trim and 2 drak wool panels down the bodice either side centre front. Her bodice shoulders are trimmed with ruched and pleated wool with black ribbon bows. She wears full sleeves with pleated frill panels over the shoulder seams. Written on reverse in pen ' Schoolmasters daughter / taken about 1892.'
