She is wearing a knee length white cotton dress with a layer of spotted white net over it. Her dress has 3 flounces above the hem and 3/4 length sleeves with a flared frill cuff. She has a high round neck with a pleated edge and a ribbon tied in a bow at the centre front. Worn with striped stockings and buttoned up leather ankle boots. The other girl is seated on a small wooden stool, she has a tousled fringe and ringlets. She is wearing a white, knee length cotton dress with a finely pleated bodice, round neck with frill collar, full length sleeves with pleated cuffs and a lace trim at the hem of the skirt. Worn with striped socks and buttoned up leather ankle boots. Painted studio backdrop of interior with a window, plain wall and patterned carpet.
