Poplars, Chirk Valley
Mildred E Eldridge 1909 - 1991
Summary
A landscape which focuses on four elongated, pale, poplar trees on a hillside. The background is densely layered with the horizon almost at the very top of the painting. Hills, forests, and the road running through are layered on top of each other, with the road curving round to the left. There is a striking use of unnaturalistic colours, such as purple, orange, and black. Chirk Valley is in North Wales.
