Summary
Cream/beige check wool tweed, 2-piece suit: fitted single breasted jacket with 2 large mother-of-pearl buttons, turn-down collar and revers; vertical pockets on seams; and lined beige silk. Woven label, cb neck 'Edna Glyn, Manchester'. Matching a-line skirt mounted onto a silk foundation camisole. Original silk blouse missing, but kid gloves and salmon pink straw plait hat, both from Kendal Milne, Manchester included. Worn by the donor, Eileen Topham, as her 'going away' outfit for her marriage to Alan Chamberlain in Stone, Staffordshire on 31 March 1959. Edna Glyn's shop was in St Ann's Street in Manchester.
