Summary

coat : black wool woven with a dark charcoal pinstripe, lined black twilled rayon, cream in sleeves. Fronts each in 1 section to waist with twin darts each side CF. Edge to edge fronts with single black plastic button fastening to parallel buttonholes. Long V neck with turn back collar and sharply pointed revers each with single buttonholes. Breast pocket; padded shoulders and fronts. Long sleeves in 2 sections with 4 plastic buttons to cuffs. Back in 4 shaped sections with CB seam. 2 buttons at waist; 2 sections at CB continuing into skirt with pleat and curved side back seams. All edges hand finished. Label, see inscription. Waistcoat : grey blue wool/cotton mixture, backless, lined white cotton. grey alpaca neck strap and belt. Double breasted, fastening with 3 pairs of pearl buttons in a V shape pointing to waist. Fronts each in 1 section with rounded waistline and dart either side. 2 slit pockets; false collar and rounded revers. belt fastening with buckle marked "British Made". All edges top stitched by hand. Label as in coat. Trousers : wool suiting, striped with alternating mid grey marl and narrower silver/grey fancy weave. Lined cream glazed cotton. Front fly, fastening with 5 concealed buttons; 2 pleats either side. Waistband fastening with button and tab; 2 buttons attached for braces; pockets set inton each side seam. Lined white cotton. Back, V shaped centrally with points either side with buttons for braces. right pocket with button; label as in coat. Shirt : white cotton Collar : stiff, white cotton, detatchable Tie : black and white woven silk Worn by Mr H Sharratt (donor's husband).
