Summary

Fine white linen. Neckband 4.4 cm wide, fastening in front with a small pearl button; fullness at back gathered into neck; open front, wrapping over to fasten on right with five pearl buttons, the four lower in a line sloping slightly inwards at the top, the top one (missing) fastening to end of narrow neckband; front inset with four narrow vertical panels embroidered in white with chain-stitch in a lozenge pattern between tucks 1.6 cm wide. Three small pearl buttons sewn to the central tick; inset backed by finer linen; fullness of sleeves gathered into top of armhole, armhole strengthened by a bias strip of linen 2.5-3.8 cm in width; cuffs 7.5 cm wide the ends curved slightly upwards, with rounded corners and seam fastened by one small pearl button; flat side seams terminating in small gussets 23.8 cm from the bottom at the back.
