Navy facecloth trousers, lined at top and front with black and white cotton and black glazed linen; back waist of 2 sections, shaped to point with braces button on each; concealed fly with 6 buttons; 2 braces buttons each side at front; top bound narrow black braid; legs seamed inside and out; 2 black enamelled buttons inside at hem; inscribed at waistband "May 1859".
