coat: black corded silk: lined black twilled silk, sleeves lined white cotton fronts fastening to two inches below round neck with eleven silk covered buttons and buttonholes; very narrow neckband, tapering to front; pocket, white cotton, each side at waist, shaped flap worked with four ornamental vertical buttonholes with four buttons below; skirt front curving away slightly to sides; back in two sections, skirt flared and pleated at sides, open seam caught at intervals, button at top and bottom, two between; centre back of skirt seamed at waist with long ornamental buttonhole and another below each side; pleat at side back seam, centre back seam open; long sleeves in two sections, wrists lined cream satin; turn-back cuffs with four buttons and ornamental buttonholes breeches: slightly shaped waistband lined chamois leather, open at centre back and fastened with two black silk ribbon ties; fastening centre front with three buttons and buttonholes; front flap lined black twilled silk, fastening with two smaller buttons; pocket, chamois leather, each side, fastening with button on hip; back gathered into waistband; seamed centre back and at inner and outer leg; knee fastening with four buttons and buttonholes, opening lined black twilled silk and white cotton and linen; black silk kneeband lined cream plush, with buttonhole waistcoat: front, and back skirt, black corded silk; skirt lining and front edge facing, black twilled silk; back black glazed twilled wool; front and back lining white cotton and linen fronts fastening to high round neck with thirteen silk covered buttons and buttonholes; pocket, white cotton and linen, at waist each side, with shaped flap with four ornamental buttonholes and buttons below on waistcoat; skirt cut away below waist, flared at sides; side seams open with slight overlap; back in two sections, centre back seam open below waist. Worn by Thomas Carill-Worsley (1739-1808), who lived at Platt Hall 1764-1808
