Summary

Natural cotton twill smock. Yoke in one straight section, lined fawn twilled wool; centre back, and fronts extending to side back, each in one width; centre back and front smocked from neck to wiast; open down centre front; fastening with five bone buttons below waist, six pearl buttons above (later) to neck with turn-down collar featherstitched at edge; long sleeves in one section, widening under arms; straight band at wrist, featherstitched at edge, outer wrist smocked above band; inner wrist fastening with two bone buttons; cape over each shoulder in one double rectangular section; four featherstitched tucks towards featherstitched outer edge, three pearl buttons along inside tuck, cape embroidered with quatrefoil design; stem and spiral design embroidered at centre back yoke
