Summary

High round neck; front fastening with thirteen embroidered buttons and button holes, cut away obliquely at base, sides cut in line with front, open at base of seam, forming short skirt; back slit at centre base, tabbed with scarlet twillled wool, remainder of back and lining, cream twilled silk; pockets with deep flap and three buttons below on each side front; front of neck, edges to side seams, pocket flaps and surrounds embroidered to match coat; section of matching twilled wool at base of each arm hole. Inscribed '57' and stamped 'Theo Riker Munchen...' Said to have been worn by John Wilmot in portrait at Dorrington Hall.
