Summary

Calf-length dress in cotton satin printed in tulip design in bright navy, black and white, with wide low V-neck and cap sleeves, complex front pleating to skirt; white hat and navy shoes. DRESS: wide low V-neck; shoulders extending to form very short sleeves; bodice front in 2 sections, overlapping at centre front and with dart to waist each side, extending to below natural waist; back in one section with dart to waist each side of CB opening with zip extending below waist; L side of skirt in one section with seam at CB, CF edge curved, top edge pleated into waist; R side of skirt in 2 sections, seam at CB, front edge curved and top edge pleated into waist towards L hip, overlapping L section: underskirt of stiff black nylon mesh, lined inside with dark green rayon poult, attached to dress at front waist. HAT: white woven fibre; rounded crown lined stiffened muslin, trimmed folded band of bright blue muslin; wide brim curving down at edge; band inside crown. SHOES: dark blue satin over white kid and twilled cotton, bound blue corded ribbon; leather soles; pointed toes; high very slim heels. Cotton Board
