Coat; lined cream twilled silk, except sleeves and centre back to waist, lined white linen; standing collar, 12 covered embroidered buttons on right front, fronts curving to side below waist; false pocket each side with shaped flap, 3 buttons under points of flap; four pockets in lining with welts fastening with covered buttons; back in two sections, centre seam open below waist with inserted section forming pleat each side, skirt flared and pleated at sides, open below hip, buttons at head of pleats; sleeves in two sections, cuffs in one section trimmed and surrounds, centre back opening and head of pleats embroidered with meandering floral pattern. Waistcoat; lined fine white linen; front in one section each side of fastening with 14 small embroidered button, flared at sides and cut away at front below hips, shaped pocket trimmed three buttons under flap each side, embroidery around edges and on pockets back of red watered silk in two slightly shaped sections, centre seam open almost to neck with eyelet holes for lacing from neck to waist. Breeches; seamed at centre front and back and at inner and outer leg, vertical centre front fastening with two covered buttons and buttonholes in small extra flap, deep pleat each side to conceal fastening, pocket each side of waist fastening at hip to button on waistband, extra pocket fastening with buttoned flap in right side seam; pleated at back to shaped waistband overlapping 6ins. at front and fastening with five buttons, open at centre back with straps for buckle, also covered buttons where straps join waistband, small pockets with buttons each side of fastening, chamois leather tab on left side (? for sword); opening at knee fastening with five small embroidered buttons and embroidered band with straps for buckles
