Light fawn stiffened felt, high cylindrical crown widening slightly at top, narrow brim dipping front and back, rolled up at sides, bound matching corded silk ribbon, similar ribbon round base of crown, leather band inside, white silk lining. Printed on lining; "Carrington's Beaver, by special appointment, Paterson, successor to Mountcastle and Son, hatters to the Queen; 7 Market St, Manchester". Worn by Sir James Watts.
