Symondstone Hall
Summary
Near Burnley. The property of the Rev. Charles Whitaker, but now in the occupation of William Dugdale, Esq. In ancient documents it is stated that John de Symondstone granted the monks of Whalley leave to dig stone here for building their Abbey. The neighbouring estate of Huntroyde formerly belonged to the family of Symondstone, it having changed hands in the 15th century, through a marriage.
