Exhuberant Flower

Vera Cuningham 1897 - 1955

Summary

Single flower in dark red with lighter pink colouring to the extremities of the petal. The flower is in full bloom with drooping petals, possibly a lily because of the large leaves, pronounced stamen and textured dot detail on the petals. The stem appears to be contained within a crudely painted glass jar, the background consists of varying shades of green in many different textures (presumably to mimic foliage) to the right the background is in dark hunters green with a roughly painted texture. The central stem is represented vertically in the painting with other shoots growing from it. To the left of the painting there are leaves with deep red veins running through them.
