View in (?)Brittany : Bridge, Cottages and Washerwomen
Summary
A picturesque scene of a cluster of houses on the left, by an arched bridge which stretches across the middle of the painting, over a river in Brittany. There is a pathway leading down to river in front of the houses and bridge, with some moored boats on the right. A group of women are at the water's edge on the left bank with their bundles of washing, some are kneeling and scrubbing, and one is wading into the water. More indistinct figures are standing on the bridge watching.
