Summary

Public: Pot pourri vase and cover made of soft paste porcelain. Decorated with garlands of roses and leaves in enamel colours with gilt detail. Private: Pot pourri vase and cover, soft paste porcelain. Oval, the body of the vase with inverted rim pierced alternately with oval and circular apertures. Two applied handles spring from the upper part of the oval pedestal base, are moulded with overlapping scale shapes and curve inwards to join pierced border. Cover with high central dome, moulded with ribs and pierced. Oval knop. Painted in shades of green and pink enamels with garlands of roses alternating with wreaths of leaves, in reserved panels on a ground of deep blue (bleu nouveau), gilded with partridge-eye (oeil de perdrix) pattern. All details picked out in gilt. French shape name : Cassolette Duplessis
