Public: Cylindrical mug, white earthenware, painted in cobalt blue with floral sprays, border and inscription 'GOD SAVE THE KING' beneath pearlware blue glaze. Private: Cylindrical mug with slightly everted base and ribbed strap loop handle. White earthenware body, discoloured an even buff through use, painted in underglaze cobalt blue with floral sprays either side of handle, and floral wreath opposite handle enclosing inscription 'GOD SAVE / the / KING'. Deep border to rim comprising alternating panels of diamond trelliswork and stylised plant and petal motifs surmounting two straight and one scalloped band. Handle picked out with row of graduated chevrons. Finely crazed blue pearlware glaze.
