Egyptian Revival Cabaret set (for tea or coffee) 1801-9 Anton Payer, Kaspar Hartmann, Vincenz Reichel, Johann Baumann Porcelain with silver and parcel gilt decoration Complete tea and coffee services sometimes called cabaret sets. They only began to be made towards the latter 1700s. Before then, people used accessories sourced from different places and in different materials and styles. The desire for matching tableware provided designer-makers with an opportunity to create imaginative themed designs, such as this set, inspired by ancient Egypt.
