In Conversation: Anthony Amoako-Attah with Janet Boston

Glass artist Anthony Amoko-Attah discusses his latest sculpture with Curator Janet Boston, commissioned by Manchester Art Gallery

Anthony Amoako-Attah is an innovator in international glass art and winner of the Artist of the Fair at Collect, the leading international craft fair. He makes colourful glass sculptures inspired by the iconic Kente cloth of Ghana, alive with the movement and texture of billowing cloth.

Manchester Art Gallery has commissioned him to make our latest craft acquisition, Dancing With Culture which has entered the collection.

In this special live discussion and zoom event at the Gallery, he will reveal the intricate techniques he employs, how he was inspired to merge the complex patterns of Kente cloth with the fluidity of glass and how he references Manchester in this new commission.
