Summary

A thick, impasto painted beach scene with two bathing tents in the foreground, and two figures in the scene. The salmon-pink tent on the left is numbered '20'. A woman in a green top sits against the striped coral and cream tent on the right. In front of her, on the sand, is a boat named 'Maria'. Beyond its prow, there is a man in swimming trunks who looks out to sea. A small boat can be seen near the horizon line, above this the sky is mainly off-white with a pink undercoat just visible.
