Summary
Public: Lidded ovoid vase on spreading foot, moulded with four ribs, white earthenware, decorated with laurel festoons in silver lustre on a deep copper red glaze. Private: Slender ovoid vase on spreading foot, curving in at shoulder to short straight neck. Four vertical moulded ribs in high relief with scroll terminals at shoulder, tapering off at foot. Domed lid with flattened rim and acorn finial. The whole decorated with a deep reduction-fired copper red glaze with a lustrous copper sheen in places. Painted in silver lustre round shoulder with pattern of four laurel swags tied with ribbons between ribs, flat band of silver lustre round base of neck. Four heart-shaped leaves on narrow silver band below neck. Simple clover leaves on tall stems in silver round lower body, foot and lid painted in plain iridescent lustre.
