Summary
Public: Two-handled bowl, red earthenware, decorated with Tudor roses within interlacing foliage, in silver and copper lustre over an iridescent blue-green glaze. Private: Wide circular bowl tapering in to straight flat foot. Inverted rim with two close-fitting loop handles, one on either side. Decorated with a blue-green glaze, then given a lustrous wash resulting in brushed green lustre round rim, gold and iridescent lustre with visible brushmarks on interior and exterior. Painted round rim with four Tudor roses in copper lustre with silver outlines, surrounded by silver leafy stems and each enclosed within lozenge shaped panels formed by interlacing stems. Two empty lozenge shapes on each side where handles join body.
