Summary
Public: Globular vase with tall neck, white earthenware, decorated with four Elizabethan horsewomen between four cypress trees, in silver and copper lustre over a blue-green glaze. Private: Squat globular vase with flattened sloping sides, curving in to narrow flared footring. Flat shoulder and tall, narrow neck tapering to wide flared rim. Decorated with a blue-green glaze, stained green in areas immediately surrounding lustre decoration. Painted round sides in silver lustre with four Elizabethan horsewomen riding side-saddle on four prancing horses, in copper lustre dress with silver hats over copper lustre hair. Four stylised cypress trees between horsewomen, trees decorated alternately with chequered and lozengy patterns in silver and copper lustre. Small tufts of grass on ground beneath horses' feet, riders against a background of silver spots and blue-green glaze.
