Summary
Public: Circular bowl on high foot, white earthenware, decorated with stylised leaf and petal designs in silver lustre over cobalt blue, dull purple and green glazes. Private: Small circular bowl with everted rim, tapering to flat well on high spreading footring. Exterior and interior rim decorated with an olive-green glaze, interior well with cobalt blue glaze, and interior sides with dull purple glaze. Exterior painted in darkened iridescent silver lustre over olive green with stylised leaves radiating out from foot, every alternate leaf surmounted by two silver spots. Foot painted with eight small zig-zag and spot panels in silver over dark green. Interior painted with stylised concentric petal design, emerging from central flower in silver lustre at centre of well. In rows radiating out from this: simple petals reserved in dark cobalt blue; tongue style petals in darkened silver lustre; larger simple petals reserved in paler cobalt blue; double row of overlapping large tongue style petals with arched tips in dull purple glaze with lustre ribs (these last form the decoration of bowl sides). Olive green band round rim.
