November Sunset on the Thames, Kew
Summary
A wintry, Impressionist view of the River Thames at Kew, which curves gently from the lower right corner of the composition into the centre and recedes into the hazy distance where the line of the city sits on the horizon. In the left foreground is a riverbank path lined with bare trees and bushes carrying the remnants of autumnal leaves. On the right some muddy banks reach into the river water. Behind this right bank is a field and more trees. The overall tone of the picture is salmon pink, with blue-grey.
