Summary

A lakeside setting in Menaggio, Italy, on the western shore of lake Como, depicting a fishing port with moored boats in the foreground. There are white washed houses in the middle ground to the left, with some trees growing beside which hang over the water, and behind the boats there is a wide lake. In the far distance, a vast mountain range lines the horizon. The peaceful mood is perhaps set by the paintings pastel tones.
