Summary
A tapestry style painting of a group of men, women and children picnicking in the middle of a large meadow surrounded by large stylised oak trees. To the right, three people are playing Blind Man's Buff, and to the left one man plays a lute whilst two children play with a goat and dog. There is a man and woman in the distant background. The Picnic was Adhead's entry to the Slade School summer competition in 1924. She shared first prize with Rex Whistler.
