Summary
Chestnut brown velvet. Lined with brown plain weave silk. Crown of stiffened buckram, flat top extending beyond all sides all round. Flat brim, wired and stiffened, narrowing at front and sides towards back. Crown surrounded by band of tan plain weave silk stitched along centre and ruched along both edges t form bubbly effect, ends formed into large bow at left front, covering brim and reaching to edge of crown top. Bri faced with pleated and ruched tan silk.
