Summary
Three quarter length frontal portrait of an elderly gypsy traveller with white hair, crouching down and leaning forward with one palm open toward the viewer, raised in a waving gesture. The woman is wrapped in swathes of fabric which are coloured with mottled blues and greens. The woman's face is clearly defined amidst a background of impressionist marks. Indistinct landscape background with buildings in the distance to the left.
