Summary
Public: Double-gourd shaped vase, red earthenware, with thick turquoise Opalescent-veined glaze and green Starry Opalescent crystals. Private: Double-gourd shaped vase tapering to base, with bulbous neck curving in to straight rim. Thick Opalescent-veined glaze gives turquoise base colour with green streaks round junction of neck and shoulder, and blue/green streaks running down body. Red earthenware body visible beneath streaks on lower part of body and on upper part of neck round rim. Small patch of tiny blue/green Starry Opalescent crystals (crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C) on side of body below shoulder.
