Summary

Public: Moulded cone-shaped vase with flared neck and base, red earthenware, with turquoise Opalescent-veined glaze and green Starry Opalescent crystals. Private: Narrow waisted vase with wide base on inverted foot, and narrower neck with short everted rim. Six shallow indentations at foot and shoulder give gently undulating shape round lower and upper body. Opalescent-veined glaze on interior and exterior of vase gives streaky feathery effect, red earthenware body visible beneath turquoise glaze streaks, especially round rim. At edge of rim patches of tiny green Starry Opalescent crystals, crystalline glaze containing cobalt fired to 1000 C.
