The Incorrigible
Summary
This is a humorous schoolroom scene, where a young boy with a mischievous grin, wearing a dunce's cap sits on a stool in front of his teacher's desk. He has a book in one hand, and an apple (or ball) in the other. The elderly, stern-looking teacher leans over the front of desk, with a cane in his right hand, looking down at the boy as if he is about to hit him. Two boys sit at desks to the right, and three girls are on a step by teacher's desk, reading. There are books and slates on the floor.
