Miss Taylor

Highmore, Joseph, follower of 1692 - 1780

Summary

A right-side, half-length portrait of a young woman with her hair neatly dressed with a hairpiece of pearls, a red jewel and blue feathers. She wears a blue decolleté dress lined with ermine and looped with pearls at the sleeves and bodice. She also wears a pearl choker and earrings. Her posture is very straight and she appears artificially elongated by the artist in order to seem more elegant.
