Summary

Abstract expressionist full-length portrait of a man kneeling, with one hand raised to his face, and the other falling to his side. The paintwork is think impasto with a variety of dark and bleak tones used, such as grey, black and dark yellow. Some suggestion of architectural forms are visible in the background, with darker patches of black against a mid-grey background. The face of the kneeling man is seen from a profile view and it represented in black.
