The End of War

Sir William Newzam Prior Nicholson 1872 - 1949

Summary

A soldier seen from behind kneeling on a rock to the left. In his raised right hand is a hammer aimed towards a nail pushed through a log and a door. The log is leant against the door, barricading it, which has the inscription WAR scrawled across it. A broken drum lies discarded in the foreground to the left. Pools of blood cover the foreground.
