Summary

A river view with a multi-arched bridge to the left and a large building with turrets on the embankment to the right. There is a hot-air balloon in the sky to the upper left with the inscription: 'PERANZA'. In the river to the left foreground is a rowing boat with three figures. The middle of these figures is leaning to the right with an outstretched oar trying to reach a figure in the water in the centre foreground. More boats with people in them can be seen towards the embankment on the right. Below the bridge on the left several buildings have been built on stilts in the river. People and carriages can be seen crossing the river.
