The Throne Room of the Palace

Charles de Sousy Ricketts R.A. 1866 - 1931

Summary

Interior with two draped figures on the left. Luxurious materials surround the walls of the room and a decorative rug covers the floor. On the left, half way up the height of the room is a horizontal pole bridging the gap between two walls which leads into another space revealed by drapes hanging from the pole pulled back on the left. Gold drapes and ornamented shields hang either side of a red throne with hammered metal sections in the centre mid ground. Animals are carved into the foot of the throne, and a large gold coloured medallion is placed above the throne.
