fine ivory silk 2-piece bridesmaid's dress with machine lace insertions (?Nottingham) and ruched trimming. Bodice with round neck and upper section of vertical banded machine lace; horizontal band of ruched self fabric over bust with horizontal band of lace below; fitted and boned section to waist with 3 covered bones to front and 2 cb (with pale blue stitched decorative motifs); waistband with label woven in red "Affleck and Brown, Manchester"; very full elbow-length sleeves with pleated chiffon cuffs; tiny chiffon bows applied to upper bodice; cb opening with 10 alternating hooks and covered eyes. Skirt in matching silk, tiered from waist to hem with alternating tucks, bands of ruching and inserted lace bands - horizontal at the back and diagonal either side from a central vertical band of lace at the front; narrow waistband with cf placket and opening fastening with a total of 5 hooks and eyes; waist gathering for 1.5in cb; unlined; unlabelled.
