Summary
Evening coat in black silk velvet , full length with interesting full sleeves with pintucks in an art deco design, collar and long revers with applied deep mink trim, woven label, 'Affleck & Brown Ltd, Manchester'. Belonged to donor's grandmother, Mrs Edith Hart, who died in 1946. She was the wife of Dr Thomas Wheeler Hart who was head of the Lanc Red Cross. They lived at Avenham House in Stretford (now demolished).
